No return to KRC Genk for Paul Onuachu, but a transfer to Turkey. The 2022 Golden Boot is on loan from his English club Southampton to Trabzonspor and was received by a horde of enthusiastic fans upon his arrival in Trabzon on Saturday evening.
KRC Genk had hoped to bring Onuachu, who scored 85 goals for blue and white in 134 games, back to the Cegeka Arena. But because the English team Southampton, after Genk did not want to cooperate in an exchange deal with Joseph Paintsil, came up with ever-changing financial demands, the transfer did not go ahead. The vice-champion has now secured another target with the Swiss Andi Zeqiri.
