After victories in the Tour of Italy (Roglic) and the Tour de France (Vingegaard), the Dutch team should, this Sunday, victoriously complete the Tour of Spain with Kuus.
1, 2 and 3. After successes in the Giro (with the Slovenian Primoz Roglic) and the Tour de France (thanks to the Dane Jonas Vingegaard), the Dutch team Jumbo-Visma should, this Sunday in Madrid, be part of the finish of the 21st and last of the Vuelta, write a page of history with the success of the American Sepp Kuss (ahead of his teammates Vingegaard and Roglic…). A podium for an unprecedented hat-trick.
For the first, a team wins the three grand tours in the same year. The famous Molteni, Renault-Gitane, Banesto or Sky had never achieved this.
Sepp Kuss (14th in the Giro and 12th in the Tour being, moreover, the only rider to have participated in the three grand tours this year with the Spanish veteran Luis Leon Sanchez, 39, from the Astana team) won the reward for his dedication and should become the second American to win the Vuelta, ten years after Chris Horner.
To accompany the event, Kuss, Vingegaard and Roglic wore shorts adorned with pink, yellow and red at the start of the 21st stage heading towards Madrid.
