Quebecer Matthew Bergeron Shines in NFL Debut as Atlanta Falcons Beat Carolina Panthers

Quebecer Matthew Bergeron savored victory in his official NFL debut following a 24-10 win for the Atlanta Falcons against the Carolina Panthers.

The lineman who was drafted at the start of the second round during the last selection session started the game as the starting guard. The Falcons offensive line allowed four sacks during the game and allowed the ground game to be successful with two touchdowns from Tyler Allgeier.

If the latter distinguished himself with two majors and 75 yards, it was the debut of the eighth choice of the draft, Bijan Robinson which attracted attention for Atlanta. He showed all his talent by scoring a touchdown following a reception and a nice feint to get rid of his roofers. Robinson amassed 56 yards on the ground and 27 through the air in this meeting.

This meeting also marked the debut of first choice Bryce Young for the Panthers. The quarterback had two interceptions and threw his first NFL touchdown pass when he hooked up with Hayden Hurst. Young completed 20 of 38 passes for 146 yards.

“I did a bad job taking care of the ball and handling certain situations,” Young said after the match. I will grow and learn from this situation. »

The Falcons will play their next game against the Green Bay Packers.
