MyCAREER showed in NBA 2K23 that life as a professional basketball player is not always about performance on the court. The only catch: The career as an NBA player receded into the background too much, tedious side quests and Pay to Win clouded the picture of an otherwise nice game mode.
How Pay to Win in MyCAREER from NBA 2K24 is still unclear. On the other hand, it was announced that basketball should come back to the fore. The journey in America’s professional league begins as the young player “of the last 20 years”. The goal: Chase as many achievements as possible on the playing field and climb “from the GOT-NEXT level to the GOAT level”.

There will be a total of three playing fields throughout the city, where “bosses and teams with skills” must be defeated. Streetball “features its own progression system with the opportunity to earn game-changing takeover perks that can set your MyPLAYER apart from other players in The City.” As in NBA 2K23, players would be faced with choosing a faction. However, these have been reduced to two: RISE and ELITE. While the district of RISE is based on Atlantis, ELITE shines in a futuristic look.
Also, it was announced a few weeks ago that REP is returning. Each season you can earn experience points and rise in a global ranking. Those who make it into the top 10 will receive “a special logo and rewards”. NBA 2K24 will be released on September 8th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and the Nintendo Switch.
