Ricky Williams asks NFL to treat players with marijuana after games

Ricky Williams spoke to TMZ Sport and explained that he would be excited to see the league approve the marijuana deal on the players after the game to help them in their recovery.

“The truth is that, for soccer players, we need something because it hurts, you are very accelerated and it is difficult to calm down and go to sleep. And I would love to see cannabis as one of those things that the coach walks down the aisle and offers to those players.”

Ricky Williams and his peculiar career in the NFL

Ricky Williams was selected by the New Orleans Saint with the fifth pick in the first round of the 1999 draft. In 2002 he was traded to the Miami Dolphins for several draft picks and although he was the best rusher in number of yards, he was subsequently fined for the NFL after smoking weed and opted to retire months later.

Although he returned to the Baltimore Ravens in 2011, he only lasted a year before finally ending his professional football career, prioritizing marijuana over sports.
