The 55th player in the world beat the Italian in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) during the ATP 250 tournament in Chengdu.

What a performance from the Russian! At 26 years old, the 55th in the world is living a waking dream. Present in the ATP top 100 for the first time in his career last year, Medvedev’s compatriot will experience his first final of an ATP tournament. After notably dismissing Daniel Evans (32nd in the world) in the round of 16, he achieved one of the best performances of his career by getting rid of the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who was 18th in the world.

He triumphed over his opponent in two sets (6-3, 6-4). This is not the first time he has been talked about this year, since he reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon last July. He will face the winner of the second semi-final on Tuesday, pitting Dimitrov against Zverev.
