Schoolchildren from educational institutions in the Tacna region won in the disciplines of Soccer, Handball, Futsal, Basketball, Table Tennis and Judo, in the School Sports and Parasports Games Macroregional Stage 2023. The closing ceremony took place this Friday afternoon at the stadium of the Manuel A. Odría Educational Institution, with the presence of the Manager of Development and Social Inclusion, Julio Aguilar Vilca; the regional director of Education of Tacna, Aldo Espinoza Rodríguez; the directors of the Local Educational Management Units (UGEL) Tacna, Tarata, Candarave and Jorge Basadre and education specialists. In the Soccer discipline, category B, men, first place went to the IEE team Coronel Bolognesi. Likewise, in the same category, ladies, the IE Modesto Basadre team won. In the Handball discipline, category B, the gold medal for men was won by IE Don José de San Martín, and in women by IE Mariscal Cáceres. In the Futsal discipline in category B, men, the champion was IE Enrique Paillardelle. In the Basketball discipline, first place in category B, men, was won by IEP Cristo Rey, after a close match with Glorioso San Carlos (Puno) at the Zela Coliseum. This week, there was also a win in the table tennis discipline, category C, where the student Pamela Chipana from the Cientifica School achieved gold. Likewise, Gabriel Pinto from Cristo Rey school achieved second place in category B. Both will seek to add more medals in the national stage of the games. Likewise, in the Judo discipline, the schoolchildren Breissi Marca and Yelena Zapana from the IEE Francisco Antonio de Zela and Kaela Huamani from the IE Jorge Basadre Grohmann obtained first place in the categories of -53 F Kg., +64 F Kg and -64 F Kg., respectively.
There were more than 1,200 schoolchildren from the regions of Arequipa, Puno, Moquegua and Tacna, who participated from September 18 to 22 in 10 sports disciplines of the School Sports and Parasports Games Macroregional Stage 2023, which were held in eight sports venues in Tacna.
