The ‘Swifties’, as Taylor Swift fans call themselves, called on people to vote for Jude Bellingham in the open public vote for the 2023 Golden Boy, the trophy awarded to the best young player of the year. The reason? An answer in an interview from Alejandro Balde who said he did not like the music of the American singer.
“I don’t like his music”
“Do I like Taylor Swift? No, I don’t like her music,” the Barça left-back replied in an interview with Mundo Deportivo. Almost innocuous words but which some Real Madrid supporters used to encourage Taylor Swift fans to vote in favor of Jude Bellingham, to the detriment of Alejandro Balde, the two players being favorites for the trophy awarded by Tuttosport.

The movement launched on social networks is having an effect since Jude Bellingham has gone from 30% of the votes in his favor at 5.30 p.m. to 86% at 11 p.m.
Alejandro Balde goes from 43% to 11% of the votes
Obviously to the detriment of Alejandro Balde, who was in the lead with 43% of the votes, before Taylor Swift fans took up the subject. Barca’s left-back is down to just 11% of the vote as of this writing, and the figure is plummeting.
