The National Youth Games Kick Off in Guayaquil: A Showcase of Young Talent

The best athletes in the country, between 12 and 15 years old, began this Tuesday, September 12 in Guayaquil the competitions of the National Youth Games which will last until October 8.

After a colorful and massive inauguration in which the representatives of the delegations paraded in the Plaza Model Sportlocated on the esplanade of the Alberto Spencer stadium, the Games began in four disciplines: archery, field tennis, judo and volleyball.

Judo started in the Coliseum of “Roberto Gilbert” Complex, in Pascualeswhile field tennis began to develop on the cement courts of the “Pancho Jiménez Buendía” Complex, in Miraflores, north of the city.

In this last discipline, 41 tennis players compete (20 women and 21 men) from provinces such as Azuay, Chimborazo, Guayas, Imbabura, Los Ríos, Pichincha and Tungurahua.

In indoor volleyball, the initial day, for both women and men, started at the sport’s coliseum, located next to the “Alberto Spencer” Model Stadium between Azuay, El Oro, Emeralds, Guayas, Loja, Los Rios, Manabi, Morona Santiago and Pichincha.

Finally, archery takes place in the facilities of the Provincial Association of this sport, in the “Pancho Jiménez” Complex, in Miraflores. The roster of the Albicelestes is as follows: André Mora, Darwin Peñafiel, Alejandra Juárez, Renata Chávez and Giulia Larrea.
