The Prestigious Legacy of Thonon Judo Club: 76 Years of Training Champions

It is one of the most prestigious judo clubs in the Pays de Savoie since it has trained numerous educators who have gone to teach in other clubs in the region. And it has more than 200 licensees in its ranks.

In the spring of 1947 two young people: Milo Ostier, a great sportsman and fan of football and swimming, facilitator at the Youth Center on Boulevard de la Corniche, and René Robert, physical education teacher at the hotel school and student of Master Takiasu in Antibes, decided to create the Thonon Judo Club.

For 76 years, this prestigious club has trained numerous judokas of all ages, men and women, and shines in national and international competitions. In these days of the start of the school year for sports clubs, it is an opportunity to get to know this septuagenarian club better and to talk about upcoming competitions.
