METHODOLOGICAL NOTE
The Sportsmanship Index (which measures the quality and diffusion of sport at provincial level) is based on 32 indicators divided into four categories: structure and organization of the sports system, team sports, individual disciplines and relations of sport with the economy and social reality. For each indicator and category, the ranking of the 107 Italian provinces is drawn up; taking into account the different “weight” attributed to the individual indicators, the final ranking is then defined. Mostly the data refers to 2022, for team sports the 2022-2023 season is considered.
