The programming of sports activities has already begun in the municipality of Tijarafe. In total, 10 activities will be carried out within the sports promotion for this 2023/2024 academic year.
Thus, chess classes will be taught both at the CEO Tijarafe and at the Maestra Adela Public Library in La Punta. The municipal soccer field will host athletics and soccer classes, while paddle tennis classes will continue to be held on the adjacent fields. In addition, skating and basketball classes will be held on the La Punta court. Other disciplines such as judo, psychomotor skills and dance were taught at the José Luis Lorenzo Barreto House of Culture. The sports offer is closed by our vernacular sport, the Canarian wrestling classes will be given at the Laureano Castro field.
Yaiza Cáceres, mayor of the Tijarafe City Council, for her part, points out that “we are starting September with the start of a complete program of sports activities, which will continue throughout this academic year. From the Tijarafe City Council we seek to offer various activities that touch on different areas of sport, trusting that they will be of benefit and pleasure to our neighbors.”
Saray Domínguez, Sports Councilor for the Tijarafe City Council, indicates that “any type of exercise is very positive for health and, in addition, during the development of the little ones it provides multiple benefits that will also help them in their adulthood. For this reason, every year we seek to maintain the offer of sports activities that help boys and girls promote physical and mental growth, promote the creation of habits and teach responsibility, commitment, respect and camaraderie.”
