Tomateros de Culiacán Signs Thomas Dillard as Foreign Reinforcement for the 2023-2024 Season

CULIACÁN._ Tomateros de Culiacán, in search of rounding out the share of power in the batting order, signs Thomas Dillard as a foreign reinforcement for the 2023-2024 season of the Mexican Pacific League (LMP).

Dillard, 26, currently leads the Atlantic League (independent) in home runs with 39, and leads his team, the Lexington Counter Clocks, in AC (83), IC (100) and walks with 100.

His OPS is .988, which puts him at the top of his team, in which he also has Connor Owings as a teammate.

The new member of the ninth culichi, bats from both sides of the plate and throws right. He primarily serves as a first baseman and outfielder, although he also has experience as a catcher.

He was chosen by the Brewers in the fifth round of the 2019 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft, from the University of Mississippi. He debuted that same year in Rookie League and Class A.

During 2021 and 2022, he divided his time between Class A+ and Double A, within the same organization.

In 281 games at that level, he had a .784 OPS with 37 HR and 170 IC, as well as 27 stolen bases in 31 attempts (87 percent).

During his time in college baseball, during 2019 he negotiated 61 walks to set a record within his university, for one season.
