UCV FC Press UCV Fútbol Club added a point at the Olympic Stadium, as a visitor against Caracas Fútbol Club, after drawing without goals in the match valid for matchday 27 of the FutVe League.
The beginning of the match was a study for both teams, with no clear arrivals and with possession of the ball divided. The Ucevista team’s first approach to the rival goal did not come until the 27th minute, when a long-distance shot from a stopped ball by Luis Blanco passed close to the goal guarded by Alain Baroja. Later, Caracas FC was left with ten players after the expulsion of midfielder Bryant Ortega for a double warning.
Minutes later, both teams continued trying to open the scoring. For their part, the Avilanians crashed the ball into the crossbar of Juan Reyes’ goal, after a header inside the area by Rubert Quijada. Next, in the 33rd minute, Luis Blanco tried again with a great shot from his left foot that was deflected into the corner by the red goalkeeper. Without further differences, those led by Daniel Sasso went to half-time with the score tied.
For the second part of the commitment, the UCV sought to impose conditions from numerical superiority. The tricolor strategist brought in attacker Ronaldo Peña and defender Joynner Rivera.
The first dangerous chances came in the 60th minute, with a mid-range shot by Peña that ended up in the hands of the local goalkeeper. Three minutes later, Luis Martell finished with his left foot, but the ball went a little wide of the right downpipe of the opponent’s goal.
At 68′, Juan Reyes began to be the protagonist of the game, with a great save after a shot by Daniel Rivillo that ended in a corner kick. Then, ten minutes later, the university goalkeeper again stopped a shot from Saúl Guarirapa, who was left hand in hand in front of Reyes, but the latter responded in a great way.
In the final minutes of the match, Kevin González entered the rival area, to later score a cross that failed to connect with any teammate. Then in the 88th minute, Joantony Carmona tried with a low cross that almost managed to reach Daniel De Sousa at the far post.
In this way, UCV FC adds a new tie to reach 23 points and tie Hermanos Colmenares for thirteenth place in the classification table. Their next commitment will be on Saturday, September 26 at 5:40 pm at the Olympic Stadium of the Ciudad Universitaria.
