Adrian Peterson: Still Looking for a Shot at NFL Comeback

Adrian Peterson is one of the few players to be awarded the title of MVP of the season without playing the quarterback position.

In 2012, while wearing a Vikings uniform, “AP” finished the season with 2,097 rushing yards, eight shy of Eric Dickerson’s all-time rushing record. Except that this wonderful season is a bit dated and Peterson, since then, has waltzed from one team to another and he has not played in the NFL since 2021.

After his ten seasons in Minnesota, Peterson wore the uniform of the Cards, Saints, Commanders (Redskins at the time), Lions, Titans and Seahawks. He only played one game for Seattle and has been out of the league ever since.

Except that at 38 years old, he doesn’t hesitate to say that he still has gas in the tank.

Visiting Robert Griffin III’s podcastPeterson said he was in better shape than ever and that he would like a team to invite him to come and earn a spot before the playoffs.

“I can still play,” he says at Griffin III’s microphone. I feel like I could still do better than a lot of the kids I see playing today. I definitely want to play again, the desire is there, the passion too and the love of setting foot on the pitch to surpass myself. »

Let’s say that running backs close to forty are not common in the NFL. Frank Gore, recently, has been the exception to the rule.

“If a team wants to give me a chance before the playoffs, I’m ready and I’m going to make things happen. »

During his football inactivity, Peterson threw his hat into the boxer/influencer circle. However, he lost his only fight against another former NFL player: Leveon Bell.

With all the injuries heading into the middle of the season, maybe his phone will ring.
