Águilas defeated Tigres in 12 innings

Águilas del Zulia defeated Tigres de Aragua 2-1 at the Luis Aparicio in a match that needed 12 innings to be decided and where pitching was the protagonist.

Starting pitchers Angel Rondón for Zulia and Austin Drury for Tigres tied up the opposing offenses during the first four innings.

The relay did the same and upon completing the nine innings the score remained 0-0.

In the tenth inning Yonny Hernández, who started the inning at second, stole third base and, following an error by the Águilas catcher, scored the first run of the game.

Ángel Reyes was in charge of tying the score in the bottom of the tenth inning with a single that brought home Simón Muzziotti.

Two innings later, Muzziotti himself would be in charge of giving the Raptors the victory. The outfielder hit a double that brought José Salas home to leave the Tigers on the field.

Alejandro Chacín (1-0) won the victory with two innings in which only one rival reached base per walk.

The defeat was for Eduardo Figueroa (1-1) who could not get any out in the 12th inning and allowed Muzziotti’s double.

Águilas wins its third game in a row and leaves its record at 4-1. For its part, Tigres remains with a 2-3 record.
