The national team continues its preparations in Coverciano without Federico Chiesa. Even today the Juventus striker continued to carry out his recovery programme: the aim of the Azzurri staff is to have him available for next Tuesday’s away match in London against England. ”Along with Saturday’s match against Malta, it is a key match”, declared Federico Dimarco on the FIGC social media channels. During today’s training session, which took place in front of UEFA leaders, starting with president Ceferin accompanied by the number one of the FIGC Gravina, coach Luciano Spalletti had new technical/tactical exercises carried out after the morning video sessions. For Saturday evening’s match in Bari, where San Nicola is heading towards a full house, the national team could present itself with Donnarumma between the posts, Darmian (or Di Lorenzo) on the right and Dimarco on the left, with the Mancini-Mancini tandem in the centre. Bastoni, in midfield Barella (alternatively Frattesi), Locatelli and Tonali, up front the trident with Berardi, Raspadori (currently favored over Scamacca) and Kean. The Azzurri will continue to work in Coverciano tomorrow and Friday morning before leaving for Bari. At the end of today’s training Spalletti gave the players the evening free which many will spend in some well-known restaurants in the historic centre. The return to the retreat will start at 11.30 pm.
