Badminton Club in Scaër Hosts Competitive Inter-Club Matches

Every Tuesday evening, badminton enthusiasts meet at the sports hall in Scaër. Sessions start at 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., for young people aged 8 to 14. Then from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. it’s the adults’ turn. The two Tuesday groups are accompanied by sports instructor Sébastien Blaise. On Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., sessions take place without support.

Competition between Finistère clubs

For the moment the Scaër badminton club has around thirty members, children and adults. “This year, we are going to participate in the evening federation: it is a competition between clubs from Finistère in the evening slots, on Tuesday and Thursday. The interest is to meet the clubs of southern Finistère, explains Charles Marant. Our meetings take place in a family and leisure spirit rather than competition. Badminton brings group cohesion, it is an extracurricular activity where motor skills are required, it is a “good release of steam. The warm-ups and sessions are fun.” For Sébastien Blaise “in this racket sport, age is not decisive, you can easily mix ages. The more experienced help the younger ones progress.”
