“I think we played a decent game in terms of commitment, will and willingness to run. But what was missing today was the power,” said coach Terzic (40) after the game. “It was an even game, so it was a deserved draw.”

After two of six group games, anything is still possible for BVB, also because Newcastle surprisingly beat PSG 4-1. “We have already shown a good performance,” said national striker Niclas Füllkrug (30). “That can still give us self-confidence and you can see that anything is possible in this group. Union Berlin suffered its second defeat in the second Champions League game in the club’s history. The Köpenickers lose again by conceding a goal in stoppage time. After losing 1-0 in Madrid two weeks ago, they lost a 2-0 lead on Tuesday in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium and ended up losing 3-2 against SC Braga.
“That was a very bitter defeat. “You ask yourself how much you can take,” said Union coach Urs Fischer after conceding a late goal. “It’s important to get up even after this blow,” said Fischer.
