Caimanes de Barranquilla Suffer First Defeat but Secure Spot in Baseball Champions League Final

The Caimanes de Barranquilla experienced their first defeat in the Baseball Champions League by losing 10-6 to the United States Redhawks this Saturday at the Kulkan Álamos stadium in Mérida, Mexico. However, they managed to advance to the grand final of the tournament.

Reliever Charly Hasty was responsible for the victory on the mound, while Saurian starter Santiago Flores suffered the defeat. Flores could not keep the opponents at bay in the first chapter, and an impressive eight-run rally in favor of the Americans left very little chance of victory for the Barranquilla players.

Despite this, Caimanes managed to reduce the difference to 9-5, but in the end the opponents responded and the score was a final 11-6.

Pabel Manzanero of Caimanes stood out with a 4-1 performance, with three runs batted in and one scored. Just like he had already done in last Friday’s game.

Despite losing their undefeated record in the tournament, the Atlanticenses secured their place in the grand final of the baseball championship in Mexico thanks to the tournament’s tiebreaker criteria (TQB).

The team led by manager Carlos Vidal will play this Sunday at 7 pm, Colombian time, against the Redhawks in the final of the Champions League Baseball.
