It was in Germany, in Düsseldorf, that the 6th edition of the Invictus games took place, from September 9 to 16, 2023.
Initiated by Prince Harry in 2014, these international sporting events bring together injured women and men. More than the competition, it is the meeting between athletes of all nationalities that prevails.

Two brave people from Haut-Saône represented France this year. Catherine Denarie, a former gendarme injured in the spine during an internship with the Republican Guard, won the gold medal in recurve archery at 70 meters. Michel Vuillerminaz, also a former gendarme, injured his knee during an escort mission, won silver in wheelchair basketball, only losing to the American team.

The ONaCVG helped these two athletes in their preparation by helping to finance a pair of glasses for Catherine.
Note that this gathering brought together more than 550 athletes from 21 nations, including 22 French. Engaged in around ten disciplines (archery, wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, athletics and even swimming, etc.), the French team finished with 30 medals, including 19 gold.

Catherine will now try to qualify for her second Invictus Games in the curling discipline. See you for the 7th edition in 2025 in Vancouver, Canada. Michel will be his first supporter.

The ONaCVG would like to congratulate its two athletes and wish them good luck in their projects.
