There’s a lot at stake on the third matchday, not just for BVB, but also for Leipzig. The club from Saxony can take a big step towards the round of 16 of the Champions League at the halfway point of the group phase. If they beat the Serbian champions, coach Marco Rose’s team would at best be five points ahead of the third place in Group G.

This means that progress could be made perfect in just two weeks in Belgrade. With the exception of the injured captain Willi Orban, Rose can rely on all of the regular players. Playmaker Dani Olmo is expected to play for a longer period of time; the Spaniard was recently out for a month due to a bruised knee.
