Kai Jones and Charlotte Hornets, it’s over. The franchise has decided to cut the player from the roster after what happened in recent months. A few days ago, through a post on social media, he announced the request for a trade from the Hornets, which could lead to him being fined by the NBA.
In late September, the Hornets decided that Jones would be away from the team indefinitely for personal reasons. This came on the heels of some social media posts in which, among other things, he claimed to be better than a pair of his teammates, LaMelo Ball and 2023 first-round pick Brandon Miller. In total, he appeared in 67 NBA games over two seasons and averaged 2.7 points and two rebounds in 9.1 minutes per game.
