As has been customary during this season, Nicolás Jarry was the national racket that had the best performance after reaching the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters 1000.
In the Chinese competition, the penultimate of the year in that category, the “Prince” was free in the first round given his status as the top seed. He then successively accounted for the Frenchman Terence Atmane (148th), the Italian Lorenzo Sonego (59th) and the Argentine Diego Schwartzman (130th), falling in the phase of the eight best with the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (19th).
