Evan Fournier and Kevin Durant are two players who have inglorious backgrounds. The two men don’t seem to like each other judging from their last meetings, but the Frenchman recently made a revelation that was surprising to say the least.
The season has already started for the Knicks, however this is not the case for Evan Fournier. Despite his significant number of minutes during the pre-season phase, the franchise does not seem to want to field him in an official match for the moment. A most regrettable situation for the back and which prevents him from facing the other stars who make up the league, including in particular Kevin Durant.
That said, the last time the Frenchman crossed paths with KD on an NBA floor, the latter was still playing for the Nets. The two men therefore met again during tense New York derbies, one of which gave birth to an electric and viral sequence opposing them. Suffice to say that they do not necessarily embody the best friends in the world.
Evan Fournier sets the record straight on Kevin Durant’s Nets
If Fournier is still in the Knicks squad at the moment, Durant left the Nets to join the Suns during last season. It was therefore without the title that he had come to seek that he left Brooklyn. Why consider his visit there as a failure? Not according to the French international, who recalls the bad luck with which his rival had to deal:

Actually, it was working well until there were injuries during the playoffs (2021). They would win the title that season! They were really going to end up champions. After that, I don’t really know. I guess they missed their chance, and there were some internal problems that no one knows about. But that summer, they would win the title. 100% safe.
Accompanied at this time by Kyrie Irving et James Harden, the Slim Reaper, however, could not count on them during part of the postseason. Despite this, he almost single-handedly eliminated future champions Bucks. Vavane is therefore surely not wrong to think that they were capable of seeking the Holy Grail and thus shaking up the stories about their superteam.
