Ibercaja and the Burgos Women’s Basketball Club have renewed their agreement to carry out sports projects and activities organized by this club. The provincial director of Ibercaja in Burgos, Javier González, and the president of the Burgos Women’s Basketball Club, Jonathan Vivar, signed the renewal of the collaboration agreement at the entity’s headquarters in Burgos.
This sports club, born in 2021 and which has had the collaboration of Ibercaja since its foundation, aims to continue offering a service to the female sector of Burgos society through the practice of basketball, focusing mainly on training tasks.
The club has more than a hundred players in its ranks and is in the process of recruiting to increase these numbers.
For this season, the Women’s Basketball Club will have a school and nine teams from the junior to youth categories, with the possibility of incorporating even more players open. Recently, the club has achieved promotion to Primera Femenina, being the only representative from Burgos in this category.
Ibercaja collaborates with the Burgos Women’s Basketball Club by allocating financial aid to the development project of the club’s lower categories, which demonstrates the bank’s objective of continuing to contribute to promoting grassroots sports in those territories where it is present, therefore entails for society and the territory.
In this way, it responds once again to its corporate purpose “to help people build the story of their life” and its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting people’s health and well-being.
