Japanese Women’s Volleyball Team Dominates in Asian Games 2022

The Japanese women’s national volleyball team won with a big score during their group phase match Asian Games 2022 (2023), Sunday (1/10).

Japan faced Afghanistan in the second match of Pool D. The representative of the Land of the Rising Sun was superior to his opponent.

The former Asian Games volleyball ruler, who is aiming for his first gold since 1978, really didn’t hesitate to beat Afghanistan from set to set.

After winning 25-2 in the first set, Japan recorded a more striking score in the second set. Japan recorded a score of 25-0. Meanwhile in the third set Japan ‘gave’ five points to Afghanistan.

The total duration of the Japan vs Afghanistan match was 43 minutes with a breakdown of 14 minutes each in the first and second sets and 15 minutes in the third set.

In the landslide victory over Afghanistan, Yuka Sato and Miwako Osanai were the top points collectors for Japan by contributing 15 points each.

Meanwhile, of the seven points recorded by Afghanistan in this match, six of them were Japan’s fault. The only Afghan player recorded as contributing points was Mohaddese Amiri.

Before losing badly to Japan, Afghanistan was also unable to withstand the onslaught of Kazakhstan in the first match. In the match which took place on Saturday (30/9), Afghanistan lost 4-25, 5-25 and 3-25.

Meanwhile, Japan previously beat Hong Kong 25-17, 25-10 and 25-15.

Japan and Kazakhstan have confirmed their tickets to the second round and are in the same group as Thailand and Taiwan in Pool F.
