Les Buts Filled Fall Classic Welcomes Capitales de Québec Champion for Second Edition

The second edition of the Les Buts Filled Fall Classic, which will take place this Saturday at the Stade Paul-Émile Dubé in Trois-Pistoles, will be able to count on the presence of a member of the champion team of the Capitales de Québec as well as several former players.

Benoît Rioux, who is at the head of the event and the BR Fund, confirmed the presence of David Glaude, who won top honors in the Frontier League in 2022 and 2023 with the Capitals. The new retiree even accepted the role of honorary president of the tournament. For the occasion, he will be accompanied by several former Capitales color bearers, namely Yves Martineau, Stéphane Dionne as well as the brothers Julien and Olivier Lépine.

To complete the Capitales lineup, Gabrielle Chartré and Karine Gosselin are added to the team, as is Louperivoise baseball player Sarah Beaulieu. Raphaël Ross will act as the team’s player and physiotherapist while an important transaction took place (with the Fonds BR team) to identify the club’s 10th player, namely Pistolois Frédérick Rioux, former player of the Capitales junior and now employed by the Pittsburgh Pirates in major league baseball.

To highlight this association with the Quebec organization, the Fondation des Capitales announced a donation of $1,000 to the BR Fund to help it in its mission to encourage young people in the Basque region to pursue their dreams. The Quebec Capitales are also adding an incredible prize, a package for 10 people on the terrace of Stade Canac for a Capitales match to be determined in 2024. This fabulous prize, worth $500, will be awarded to the winners. of the 2nd edition of the Les Buts Filled Fall Classic.
