Shock in Colombia, in Liverpool and in other parts of the world due to the difficult moment that Luis Díaz is experiencing, the skilled coffee player who suffered the kidnapping of his parents. They freed his mother, but still nothing is known about his father, so an intense search operation continues.
The kidnapping occurred when the couple was driving in their vehicle through the Los Olivos neighborhood of Barrancas, a town in the department of La Guajira where Luis Díaz was born. There, his parents were approached by four individuals who were traveling on motorcycles, according to witness accounts.
According to Gustavo Petro, president of Colombia, the release of Cilenis Marulanda was possible thanks to the “operation padlock” launched in Barrancas by the Police, while they continue “in the search for the father” named Luis Manuel Díaz.

“From the FCF we stand in solidarity with him and his entire family and we call for the relevant authorities to act as quickly as possible to resolve the situation,” said the Colombian Football Federation.
