Anwar El Ghazi’s posts about the war in the Middle East have exceeded the level of endurance for FSV Mainz 05. That’s why the Bundesliga club released its striker, who was only signed in September. The 28-year-old posted “I stand with Palestine” on social networks after the Hamas massacre of the Israeli civilian population and festival visitors – and the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, which calls for the destruction of the Jewish people State propagated.
“El Ghazi took a position on the conflict in the Middle East in a way that was intolerable for the club,” the club wrote in a short statement.
