With an outstanding performance by the Mexican athletes who won the most medals in Santiago, the delegation closed this Sunday, October 22, with a total of 18 medals, of which 10 are gold, five silver and three bronze. This figure allowed the country to place itself in second position in the medal table, below the United States.

Double advance in badminton to quarter finals

Luis Montoya and Miriam Rodríguez defeated the Jamaican duo Samuel Ricketts/Tahlia Richardson 2 – 0, making the round 21 – 15 and 22 – 11, so the Mexican couple advanced to the quarterfinals in badminton mixed doubles.

Arantxa Chávez stays in 4th place in diving

In the women’s 1 meter springboard diving final, Mexican Arantxa Chávez concluded her participation in this event in fourth place. With a score of 258.85 she was left off the podium.

For her part, Carolina Mendoza finished in eighth position with a total score of 236.50.

Rhythmic gymnastics team ends participation in Santiago 2023

After an outstanding performance by the Mexican athletes, the rhythmic gymnastics team finished its participation in the Pan American Games with a final score of 150,595 points; Despite their efforts, it was not enough for them to get onto the podium, they were 3,635 away from third place, which went to Canada.

Mexico advances to the quarterfinals in badminton

Miriam Rodríguez and Romina Fregoso defeated the Brazilian team by default and thus advanced to the next round of women’s badminton doubles, they will compete in the quarterfinals to aspire to a medal.
