The Mont-Joli Minor Baseball Association received a sum of $4,000 thanks to a partnership between the crowdfunding platform La Ruche and the government of Quebec.
Four crowdfunding projects were enhanced in Bas-Saint-Laurent with this initiative. The baseball association, which was collecting donations in recent months, exceeded its goal which was set at $1,000. She ultimately received $5,445 thanks to the bonus project.
Baseball is becoming more and more popular in Mont-Joli. So much so that the organization had to refuse registrations for lack of volunteers to coach this summer. Thanks to the crowdfunding campaign, the organization wanted to offer training and development activities, purchase new equipment and offer a recognition event for volunteers.
