Accompanied by the president of the Montilla Swimming Club, Manuel Baena, the head of the Municipal Sports Service (SMD) recalled that “before, Montilla swimmers always had to travel to other locations for this type of tests, however, for a few years At this point, Montilla organizes events like this and this weekend we have 32 swimmers from lower categories and 19 Masters competing at home, in a pool where they train daily and that translates into better times.”

Special mention deserves the stage of the Master circuit, the first to take place in Montilla thanks to the incorporation, a couple of seasons ago, of the Master section in the Montilla Swimming Club with veteran swimmers also competing for a place in the championships. Andalusia.

The Montilla City Council, beyond the strictly sporting level, insists on supporting the holding of these competitions in the city due to “the economic and commercial impact they bring, thanks to the athletes themselves and their families, who usually accompany them.” in the words of Miguel Sánchez.

While the indoor pool hosted this double swimming event, the Municipal Sports Pavilion deployed its nine badminton courts to host the last scoring day at the regional level in the under-19 and under-15 categories, organized by the Montilla Badminton Club, in collaboration with the SMD.
