The Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr., forward of the Saudi Al-Hilal, underwent clinical tests this Wednesday that confirmed the tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and the meniscus in his left knee, according to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on its website. Web.
In the first instance, the former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player suffered a sprained knee during a match between the Brazilian team and Uruguay, played in Montevideo within the qualifying phase for the 2026 World Cup.
However, the CBF indicated hours later in its press release the worst of the diagnoses and that Neymar “will undergo a surgical procedure, on a date yet to be defined, to correct the injuries.” The recovery process will take the exculĂ© out for many months.
The medical department of the Brazilian team, under the supervision of Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar, is “in permanent contact” with Al-Hilal. The press release stressed that both medical teams are “aligned in the athlete’s recovery.”
