One of the things that has attracted the attention of the football world recently is Olivier Giroud becoming an impromptu goalkeeper.
The AC Milan player was forced to become goalkeeper when Rossoneri narrowly won 1-0 over Girona in the eighth giornata of Serie A 2023/24, Sunday (8/10) WIB. Giroud replaced Mike Maignan who received a red card in the 90+8 minute after committing a hard foul on Celeb Ukuban. Milan’s substitution quota had run out, and that forced the striker to become goalkeeper.
Even though there is only a little time left, in fact Milan’s goal guarded by Giroud is still under threat. Giroud’s first try came from a set piece, but luckily the ball hit the post. And secondly, Giroud managed to make a crucial save by punching the ball, then catching it to secure his team’s victory.
