Rossi assist not enough for Wild in Philadelphia

Marco Rossi recorded his first assist of this National Hockey League (NHL) season on Thursday (local time). The Vorarlberg striker prepared Marcus Foligno’s goal to make it 2:3 (45th) in the Minnesota Wild’s 6-2 defeat at the Philadelphia Flyers and has three scorer points (two goals, one assist) after seven games. The 22-year-old received 15:27 minutes of ice time and was not on the ice when a goal was conceded.

Minnesota went into the final third with a 3-0 deficit and got within 2-3 thanks to goals from Dakota Mermis (44′) and Foligno, but then conceded three more goals. It was the Wild’s third defeat in their last four games, with coach Dean Evason’s team conceding 22 goals.

Duo suffers first defeat

Since Thursday there is only one undefeated team in the league, the Vegas Golden Knights. In the Eastern Conference, the Boston Bruins suffered their first defeat with a narrow 3:4 after overtime against the Anaheim Ducks, as did the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference with a 0:4 at the Pittsburgh Penguins.
