According to ‘Sport Bild’, the favorable passage goes back to a compromise from the previous year: In November, Schalke announced the extension of Ouédraogo’s contract. During the course of the negotiations, he agreed to a comparatively very low annual salary of less than 300,000 euros.

The favored RB Leipzig is said to have no interest in this. Transfer negotiations are not an option for the Saxons: the Bundesliga club is pursuing “the clear plan”to get Ouédraogo in the summer by clause.
