The legendary and titled basketball player Semyonova’s Cup competition for girls will start this Thursday and will take place in two places – Rīdzene sports hall (Krišjāņa Barona iela 97C) and the sports base “Daugavas sporta nams” (Krishjāņa Barona iela 107).
In this tournament, ten teams will compete for victory in two age groups – four in the U17 group and six in the U15 group. Teams from four countries – Latvia, Estonia, Denmark and Hungary – have applied to participate in the Semyonova Cup.
The following teams will represent Latvia in the competition: BJBC Rīga/centre, BJBS Rīdzene, BJBS Rīga/Jugla. Estonia will be represented by three teams – “Tal Tech/ Siili PK”, Tallinn Sports Academy and “BC Star/ BS Tallinn Kalev”. The Danish team “Falcon Basketball” will also participate in the tournament, while Hungary will be represented by the “Darazsak Sportakademia” team.
The first three days, from October 26 to 28, the teams will play preliminaries, and on Sunday, October 29, the finals will take place. The opening ceremony is scheduled for October 26 at 18.30, in the Daugava Sports House.
Attending the competition is free. They are supported by Riga municipality.
