After taking the world by storm with his unforgettable performances at the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC) and the Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game, Shohei Ohtani returns with the documentary “Shohei Ohtani: Beyond the Dream,” out on Airing November 17th on ESPN+, it’s taken one step further. The documentary was produced by ESPN Films.
Speaking about the upcoming release, Ohtani said: “I am grateful for the opportunity to share my journey in this documentary. Hearing the stories of my childhood heroes was very inspiring. Featuring an unprecedented series of interviews with Ohtani and the coaches, players, managers and mentors who influenced him, the documentary takes an introspective look at Ohtani’s illustrious career, from his humble beginnings in rural Japan through his journey to two-way player, the start of his professional career with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and his long-awaited move to the MLB to the Los Angeles Angels.
In the documentary, Ohtani looks back on his career so far and talks about how he decided to play for the Angels, how he got his now famous dream board, what it was like to win the 2023 World Cup with Japan, and previous injuries overcome and much more.
