To launch our series of articles “DZ crack”, aiming to highlight the greatest Algerian talents born between 2001 and 2007, we are going to focus on Kouceila Boualia.

Playing at JS Kabylie, Kouceila Boualia has been in the news for 3 seasons now and has established himself as one of the most publicized talents in Algerian Ligue 1. Let’s discover a complete offensive player.
Course
As its first name indicates, it is a pure Kabylie product. Born in Aïn El Hammam (formerly Michelet), he grew up in the town of Azazga. It was in the municipality club, JS Azazga, that he started. His talent does not escape the big club in the region, JS Kabylie, which recruits him in U17.
It was during the 2020-2021 season that he made his debut with the Canaries pennant team. He quickly showcases his talent and establishes himself as an important player in the squad, even without being indisputable. This season allowed him to experience two exceptional adventures with a league cup title and a CAF cup final in his first season in the elite.
Unfortunately, he ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments on August 24, 2021, while on the rise. A serious injury which forces him to experience a sleepless season in 2021-2022. For his return in 2022-2023, he returns as a starter and actively participates in maintaining his club by scoring 6 goals and providing 5 assists.

Profile and strengths
Left-handed, Kouceila Boualia often plays on the right side. However, he also remains comfortable in the center of the field. A tonic and fast player, his size deficit is compensated by a lot of power and solidity on his supports.
Technically fine, he has a remarkable elimination capacity which allows him to make a difference in one on one or during long races. His solitary raid against MC Alger which particularly left its mark. This action sums up both the player’s athletic qualities of speed and power as well as his ability to dribble past his opponent.

Importantly, he is also a good free-kick taker. Endowed with excellent ball striking, his left foot can bring danger from set pieces or by cutting into the axis from his right side.

Points to improve
A complete offensive player, the areas for improvement for Kouceila Boualia lie mainly in his vision of the game. He sometimes lacks information, leading him to lock himself in or make the wrong choice on passes.
A tendency to sometimes get tangled in dribbling which can sometimes come from too much haste.
Flaws that can be erased with experience, and which will have to be to flourish at a higher level.

JSK number 24 seems ready to take the plunge and play in Europe. The interest of Girondins de Bordeaux (Ligue 2 BKT), Lorient and Toulouse (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) this summer 2023 is proof of this.
