A few hours after capturing a solid win over the Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles front office closed a deal that will make the team look stronger.
According to multiple reports from league insiders, the Titans sent All-Pro defensive back Kevin Byard to the Eagles for a fifth and sixth pick in the 2024 draft plus safety Terrell Edmunds.
Byard, a third-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, caught the attention of league scouts with a stellar performance in the Senior Bowl. He quickly established himself as one of the league’s best players at his position, and at one point became the highest-paid safety in the NFL.
Edmunds was a first-round pick in 2018 by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Virginia Tech product signed with the Eagles last offseason after the Steelers declined to exercise his fifth-year option.
Byard is a two-time first-team All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler, which immediately makes one of the best teams in the NFL that much better. Byard has played 120 games in the NFL, 111 as a starter in which he has achieved 27 interceptions, four recovered fumbles and 674 tackles.
