Those attending the match between THE Alkmaar – NEC Nijmegen, corresponding to the tenth day of the Erdivise, they watched in awe as the AZ striker, Bas Dostse collapsed on the grass when the match was entering its final minutes with the score tied at zero.

Jeroen Manschot, referee of the match, did not at first notice the Dutch footballer’s fainting. Warned by several footballers of the mishap, stopped the game shortly after, finally remaining suspended.
Fortunately, Bas Dost could be resuscitated in the same stadium, regaining consciousness before being transferred to a hospital, as reported by his own club, AZ Alkmaar, through their social networks.
It now remains to be determined when and how the match resumes. The decision is in the hands of the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB), which will consult the two teams involved to establish a date.
