Tragic Incident: Fans Disrespect Memory of Young Sunderland Fan who Passed Away from Cancer

The terrible diagnosis – cancer of the cells of the nervous system – was given to the child when he was one and a half years old (in 2013). With the help of “Sunderland” football club, they managed to collect the amount for the treatment and apparently overcome the ailment. A relapse began, but the family made the decision to fight to the end.

Throughout the four years in which they tried to save the child’s life, the club “Sunderland” was by their side and provided support. In honor of Bradley Lowry, on the eve of an English Premier League match, an action was held – the boy sent the ball into the goal of Asmir Begovic, the goalkeeper of the football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina (at that time representing London “Chelsea”). This was later voted the best goal of the month by football fans.

Unfortunately, the battle with cancer was lost. The boy died in 2017 at the age of six, but was a passionate Sunderland fan until his death.

The incident, in which the photo of the dead baby was shown to the rivals, happened on Friday evening during the match between “Sunderland” and “Wednesday”, in which “Sunderland” football players won (3:0).

The BBC reports that the police arrested two men (aged 31 and 27) who are accused of disturbing public order.

The behavior of his fans was also severely condemned by the representative of “Wednesday”, who also apologized to Lowry’s family and friends.
