United Cup 2024 with fewer matches

The United Cup will be played one year after its premiere with fewer matches and only at two locations. The new mixed tennis competition in Australia (December 29th to January 7th, 2024) was originally held with two women’s and two men’s singles and one mixed doubles.

After criticism from Rafael Nadal, among others, about too many already meaningless matches, the format has now been reduced to a singles and a mixed doubles.

In addition, Perth and Sydney will remain as hosts, while Brisbane will be dropped. However, 18 countries will continue to take part in six groups of three teams.
