US GP: Hamilton and Leclerc disqualified

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified from the United States Grand Prix for a technical infringement. Mercedes and Ferrari drivers have been disqualified after their cars failed post-race inspections, the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) said. Both drivers saw their placings canceled after a technical team found excessive wear on the bottom of their cars. Hamilton he had finished the race in second placewhile Leclerc had finished sixth.

Sainz on the podium

Following the disqualification, Lando Norris (McLaren) moves up to second place of the Austin Grand Prix, with Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) reaching the podium. Sergio Perez (Red Bull) moves up to fourth place, thus increasing his lead over Hamilton in second place in the drivers’ standings. Logan Sargeant (Williams) took tenth place and took home his first point in Formula 1 on his home circuit.

Verstappen is the “Cannibal” of F1

The dominance of the Flying Dutchman in Formula One is becoming a nightmare not only for his opponents, but also for those, excluding Dutch fans, who would like to experience different emotions at least for once. Instead, the script was the same in Austin too, as was the three-time world champion he achieved the 50th success of his career and the 15th of the season, equaling in the latter case a record that already belonged to him from last season. In short, this weekend with the world titles already decidedthe “Constructors” one already won by Red Bull at Suzuka and the “Piloti” one won for the third time in a row by Verstappen the “Cannibal” in Lusail, there were few emotions, in the sign of an overwhelming supremacy which however risks destroying even the interest in the highest category of motor racing.

Mercedes “normal” and inferior to Red Bull

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes are currently ‘normal’ and therefore little they can do against the Red Bull of the orange champion. But at least the fans can try to console themselves by thinking that if Mercedes had brought forward the first stop and without the disqualification, they probably could have played for the victory or at least put more effort into Verstappen than usual, who won in Texas despite starting from sixth place on the grid.

Max’s winning attack on Norris

The decisive moment of his race arrived on lap number 28 of the 56 scheduled, therefore halfway through the race, when the Dutch ace he led his attack on Norris braking into Turn 12, at the end of the long straight: perfect move by the Red Bull driver, who moved to the inside. Is exactly Norris, in the end, was one of the promoted players of the daybecause he held his own and eventually went on the podium, third and then second after being overtaken by Hamilton.

Carlos Sainz reaches the podium

And the Ferraris? They had finished in fourth and sixth place respectively, with Sainz and Leclerc, giving the impression that, at least in the case of the Monegasque, he could do something more. Then the disqualification allowed the Spaniard to get on the podium. Leclerc surrendered to his teammate on lap 50 and then, finding himself in difficulty, also had to give way to Sergio Perez.
