Veteran French vice-champion on June 17, 2023 in Paris, Romagné club judoka David Henrard is preparing for the veteran world championship in the M5 category of less than 90 kg.
It will take place next Thursday, November 2 in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
His coaches Laurent Boucault and Claire Lotton are confident:
Since the day of his decision, in August, we have been preparing him physically and mentally for this competition. David will have 22 fighters in his category and five fights to reach the top.
David Henrard, 53 years old, black belt in judo, 4th dan, originally from Saint-Christophe-des-Bois has been practicing judo for 40 years.
He started at the Dojo Rennais, obtained his state certificate in 2007 and taught for five years in Vitré before returning and taking his license in 2021 at the Romagné judo club.
To face this event, we surrounded ourselves with sponsors to help us set up this project, the Romagné club financed the bib, the two judogis, one blue and one white and the official belt. Everything else was taken care of by our partners, whom we thank very much.

The club organized the sponsors’ evening. Olivier Duro welcomed and thanked the municipality which is taking part financially in this project and all the financing partners and volunteers of the club who support David Henrard’s sporting challenge.
Cécile Parlot, mayor of Romagné and Pascal Mahé, deputy, were present at this thank-you evening.

The world judo championship will take place on Thursday, November 2 at Paris-Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
