Women’s football signs its agreement: “Today a path begins, nothing is completed”

On the morning of this Monday, October 23, a milestone occurred for women’s football, since the Joint Commission RFEF-CSD-Players of the Spanish National Football Team has signed the agreement that includes the agreements reached in Oliva. The event took place in the Las Rozas Football City and the president of the Managing Commission of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Pedro Rocha; the Secretary of State for Sports, Víctor Francos; and all the players of the Spanish Soccer Team, who are concentrated in Las Rozas.

Beginning of a path

Víctor Francos opened the statements by warning that “it is a happy day that should never have happened. Today a path begins, we have not completed anything. The Government is here as a mediator, not as a party. We hope that we do not find ourselves in an unpleasant situation like the one we experienced a few weeks ago. I thank the players who have been brave when it came to saying enough, when it came to making an agreement and wanting to walk together. It is one of the happiest days I have experienced as president of the CSD, after the day you won the World Cup. You have us at your side.”

The interim president of the RFEF, Pedro Rocha, and the president of the CSD, Víctor Francos, greet each other after their meeting on Tuesday. EP

Pedro Rocha declared the following: “It is a very important day for all of us. We are trying to solve everything, the Federation has its doors open to solve all the problems that exist. We have to celebrate the title of world champions as it deserves. From the RFEF We feel great pride in the work they have done and all of us at home are with Jenni, who has suffered a lot. The Federation has a different view of things since the events occurred after winning the World Cup. We build bridges and we have to give stability to this. “The image of Spanish football, with the 2030 World Cup awarded, must be one of total unity.”

And the players did not speak and limited themselves to participating in the signing, through the three captains: Alexia PutellasIrene Paredes and Olga Carmona. After the event, the soccer players left with Víctor Francos and Pedro Rocha to hold a meeting of the Joint Commission.
