Last weekend, the archery club “Les archers de la Montagne Noire” organized a qualifying competition for the French Championships. Due to work on the covered areas of Bonnecombe in Mazamet, the sporting event was hosted by the municipality of Aiguefonde which opened its multipurpose hall in Fontalba. Mayor Vincent Garel came to congratulate the many athletes who came mainly from the Occitanie region.
In this Olympic discipline, it involved shooting at 18 m indoors for all types of bows, classic, bare or compound. 54 shooters competed under the control of the federation’s referees, Eric Michenet and Christian Gonzalez. For the president of the club, Thierry Domps, this annual meeting, which has become essential, benefits from a well-established organization. “This competition marks the good health of the Mazamet club,” he explains. “The organization and the equipment are there, the participation is important and of high quality, the best will be qualified for the French championships.”

In U15 men: Descamps Clovis, U18 women: Pruvost Anaelle, men: Guiton Loris. In U21, men: Denis Joseph. In seniors 1 women: Hauy Marylène, men: Brière Adrien. Senior 2 men: Julia Patrick. Seniors 3 ladies: Mistral Mireille, men: Lanfranchi Daniel. On the compound side, in U21 men: Docquois Nathan. Seniors 1 ladies: Albert Emilie, men: Salos Mathieu. Seniors 2 ladies: Homo Véronique, men: Galy Eric. Seniors 3 men: Docquois Laurent. Finally in bare arch, we note in senior ladies: Gaudin Dominique, men: Soulié Guy.
The friendly day was marked by a meal taken together in the usual warm atmosphere. The renowned caterer, Patrick Mouret was in charge.
