Big Market Clubs Vying for Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Expected ‘Hot’ Market

Starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto will enter the post system this week, and when that happens, some anticipate the market for the right-hander will be “hot,” as reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

With a variety of big-market clubs ready to enter the bidding for his services, Yamamoto could sign a contract worth at least $200 million. Among the interested teams would be the Dodgers and Yankees.

According to Jon Paul Morosi of MLB Network, the Los Angeles squad is “among those that have expressed the most interest” in Yamamoto. This comes after Morosi indicated on Tuesday that the Bronx team is “among those that will be most active in the starter market” and has Yamamoto and Aaron Nola in their sights.

Passan added that the list of teams interested in Yamamoto also includes the Mets, Cubs and Red Sox, plus “possibly San Francisco and Toronto.”
