Busy Competition Schedule for Archers of Auray: Regional Indoor Finals and More

No time to breathe for the Archers of Auray. Just a week after the 24 hours of Cherbourg, the president, Julien Guichen, and his team organized the competition indoors at the club, in Auray.

Saturday and Sunday, November 4 and 5, 134 archers from all over Brittany, including 38 from the club, took at least one of the three proposed starts. “In terms of participation, it’s a return to pre-Covid times,” notes secretary Aurore Lafouge. “We would have liked a few more young people but it’s the holidays,” adds Julien.

The Alréens did not miss the opportunity to shine in their competition, selective for the French championship. Aurore Lafouge (seniors 2 recurve and compound bow), Frédéric Debeouf (senior 2 recurve bow), and Christian Gilloton (senior 3 compound bow) won. From the youngest to seniors 2, several second and third places complete the picture for the weekend.

At the end of March, the Alrean club will host the U11-U13 regional indoor finals, and beginners in all categories. This will be followed by the TAE (outdoor archery) at the end of April and then the 3D in mid-September.
